A Voyage to Capricia – In sooth the last adventure of Gulliver’s

A Voyage to Capricia uses the famous model of Jonathan Swift’s, describing Gulliver’s “last” voyage to an “un­known” island.
This is not only an exploration of a geogra­phical space, but also a time travel.
Placed in an ambigu­ous horizon, Capricia synthesizes the technical benefits of the present­ day, as well as the moral vices typical to a corrupt society.
It’s a “brave new world”, immersed in comical and satirical situations.

Mircea Opriță (born in 1943 in Timișoara, Romania) is a Romanian writer with a large literary work consisting of novels, stories, verses, plays for children, criticism and theoretical commentaries, mostly on science fiction. He lives in Cluj-Napoca, the heart of Transylvania. Together with the theorist Cornel Robu, author of the study A Key to Science Fiction: The Sublime, the two writers “the theoretical pole of the Romanian SF”. Among other works, Mircea Opriță wrote  The History of SF in Romania. Another book of him, The Utopian Discourse,  received the Academy Award in 2002.
